WANEY EDGE

The Waney Edge panel is known by many different names including Larch Lap, Overlap or Standard Lap. The Waney Edge name comes from the boards used to create the panel; they are cut straight from the tree with one square cut side and the other in the original outer shape of the tree and can sometimes still have the bark on too.
They are the most common budget panel seen around the UK and offer a good level of protection against intruders, animals and the odd football but do not tend to last as long as some other styles of panel.
The quality of these panels can vary considerably from each manufacturer with some using very cheap and thin cut timbers to recreate the waney effect.
The Earlswood Waney Edge panel is made using only the highest grade treated timber and come fully framed with
2 horizontal and 5 vertical battens on BOTH sides. This minimises flexing and warping of the boards and therefore, increases the life of the panel by some years.
Waney Edge panels are manufactured on site and we offer a Made-to-Measure service to meet your requirements.

CLOSEBOARD

The Closeboard panel is also known by many names including Feather Edge and Lap Panel. These panels are the best option for anyone wanting a super heavy duty fence for better security and a longer life.
They are constructed using Feather Edge Boards, which are cut so one side of the board is thicker than the other. The boards are overlapped by approximately 2” and then nailed onto strong supporting rails to the back of the panel, (our 6’ & 5’ high panels have 4 rails).
This process creates a solid, gapless panel, which should not flex once fitted in place and therefore, does not blow out in the wind.
Closeboard panels are manufactured on site and we offer a Made-to-Measure service to meet your requirements.

CONTINENTAL

The Earlswood range of Continental panels are supreme quality double sided panels manufactured using planed, light coloured timber, which are ideal for neighbours looking to share the cost of a new fence or when you want a more decorative look to your garden.
They come in a variety of styles and sizes ranging from standard flat top to a highly decorative bow top trellis.
The Continental panels are made using an internal framework so the boards can be fixed on both sides, leaving no structural supports on view and come with a heavy duty frame around the outside of the panel. The boards are slightly offset to allow wind to pass through the panel, which minimises the risk of them being blown out.
Our Continental panels are supplied by KDM and come in set sizes. If you require a non-standard size or shape we will always look into modifying a panel for you in our expert on-site workshop and will happily provide a free quotation upon request.
